Personal Statement

For me, I have to say studying in art is a various of pleasure. I really enjoy the atmosphere of working at art studio and the feeling of focus on the work for the whole day. When I was young, I really like drawing that I went to the outside classroom wanted to develop my sketching skill. Nevertheless, because of my talent wasn’t excellent, in order to the teacher doesn’t like me. The teacher made fun of me that i can just give up when I was 10 years old. I was extremely disappoint of myself, then I never go back to that classroom and tried to practise my sketching skill at home. I drew lots of pictures of human eyes, I found the huge improvement from the first outcome to the last one. After that, I do believe I can learn art and study it well as long as working hard. I figure the talent is important, however, I do figure the success is achieved by 99% hard working and 1% talent. From a certain point of view, the outside classroom teacher is actually taught me a lot, he motivated me and let me learned the truth of study.

Then I would like to describe why I hope to study in interior design. Firstly, I am interested in using software to make 3D models, which means study in interior design might become one of my hobbies. I learned lots of basis of CAD and 3Dmax from online course, and also I used to practise photoshop when I was studying in fashion design course in outside classroom. I hope I can develop my graphic and illustration skill in the future. On the other hand, my father is doing the business which are related interior design, I already contacted with interior and furniture for a long time. I am looking forward to help my father doing some business in the future. Combined interest and career, I think it is a right decision for me to consider my future. I had decorated one of my father’s office before, because he wanted to exercise me. I spent the whole day to prepare the material, decorate the wall, and arrange furniture. That is an unforgettable memory for me.

I chose these work because i think these work are the good quality in my project. Some of pictures can illustrate my drawing skill，such as fine art and contextual study. For u1-4，i arranged u6 the collage design in the content because i am really like this work that i did the similar work for my u6 final outcome. Thereafter，i had chosen a drawing of u6 movement performance. This pictures is my favorite drawing in this unit. For u5，i posed my product design and market research. These are my interests. I am looking for doing something related to furniture, building, and space in the future. For u7, I put my mood board and artist research. The mood board I designed for a long time. I think this mood board displayed my idea obviously.

For my final outcome i did some design of furniture. The theme of the pattern is also furniture. However, i felt not bad for my u5 outcome. I am confident that i can use photoshop to create different product what i expect. I want to marjor in interior design or product design in the future. I am really enjoy and interested in interior，i think i will achieve my potential when i study in the marjor course. And also when i graduate from the university，i want to be an interior designer. Therefore，study in furniture these kind of theme can motivate my interest in learning. And also i have a positive attitude toward learn the technology. However，i will focus on practice the skill of using photoshop in the future. Sometimes，i would like to make some staff using photoshop，it is just have fun for me.

In this lesson, I have learned how to write artist research for the photograph. I chose two artists for my research. One of them is Chinese famous photographer，his name is xiaoquan. Another one is a British photographer. His name is Vivian Dorothy Maier. I found them in internet，and I write some information about them to introduce them. I love their photograph. That’s brilliant，and I love black and white pictures. So I decided to take the picture as black and white when I doing my final outcome.

I felt really concentrate on these when I was writing the artist research and searching the information on the internet. It’s a good way to broaden our horizons. And also we can acquire knowledge about the photograph. In addition to，we can experience different culture and customs from different country or style photograph. There are lots ofnice view of the landscape as well.

However，i have to be diligent in the study. There are so many things i don’t know. If i devote my time to read book or research and develop different areas artists，i will accumulate lots of knowledge of art.

In this lesson i learned how to make a market research of a fashion designer and my own product. I did my own product market research in some museums and market in Cambridge. And i took lots of pictures of them. My theme is furniture，so i went to a furniture market took lots of pictures and wrote many information of them. Some of them are really expensive that because they made by special material wood.

However，i am really happy to go outside and make the research for my project. Because my theme is furniture，i love furniture，and i know lots of knowledges about furniture because my father is doing business with that. Therefore，when i was young，i can always see lots of different type of furnitures. And i am interested in interior design，i hope i can lesrn interior design when i study in the university.

In conclusion，my Market research has lots of area can be improved. Such as i can write more information for each of them. I hope i can make a better market research in the future.

in this lesson i have learned how to make a storyboard. I made this as my storyboard on the top. It is talking about a tattoo boy in China has been discriminated in that society. I drew a lot for these story board. Some of the detail are quite interesting. However，my sketching skill is not good，so i made a low quality storyboard. I can understand this story because i made that，i am not sure when people see that can understand the whole story.

Anyway，i felt quite funny to be honest. Because i never tried to make a storyboard. I felt interested. If my drawing and sketching skill can be better，i think i will have more fun with doing the storyboard，And the whole story will become more detail as well.

In the future，i hope i can improve my drawing skill and practice more. Such as try to make some different angle of the camera. I think if give me some time to practice i can do it better.

In this week i went back to china and took lots of pictures in tattoo shop. Because my theme is related tattoo，so i found some tattoo shop in my hometown. The picture on the top is my tattoo artist and also my friend doing the tattoo design before using the tattoo machine. He is using a pen to draw the detail of the tattoo in advance. We can see he has lots of tattoo as well，even his neck are covered by tattoo. But he is very friendly and patiently. Two of my tattoo are made by him，his tattoo technical is quite good.

However i do took lots of pictures when i was china，the problem is i forgot to save some practice pictures as homework. I already delete some pictures that i felt not good.

In the future i will try to take more fabulous pictures and remember to save the practice pictures. I hope i can see my improvement in the future.

In this lesson i have learned how to design products with my own pattern. Then i made my final outcome and there are two pictures of my design. I used photoshop to make this pattern on the product. At the beginning，i felt really confused cos i don’t know how to make the product design with photoshop. That is quite a good. Challenge. My theme is furniture，and my market research is furniture as well，so i designed chair and curtain. There is the pictures i designed. I like the chair best，because the color is so cute in this chair.

I felt really enjoy when i using the photoshop to make this product design. Firstly，i think that because the pattern is made by myself，so when i try to put the pattern onto the product，i felt proud of myself. In addition to the product is what i expected to make. Because i am interested in interior design，when i design the curtain and chair i felt like decorating the room，it’s interesting.

However，i did this really slow at that time，i thought it because i don’t always use photoshop to improve my design skill. if i practice more，i think i can make the product much faster and the detail will much better. i hope next time i can avoid some mistakes，such as the different order of the using photoshop.

In this lesson i have learned how to write a layer for my id outcome. Even i have not finish with my outcome print，but i already down all of them without print. This is the screenshot of my id outcome. I had made lots of description of my photograph.

However，i felt really hard when i was doing the id. Becausebi never used that before，it’s too hard for me to used English app and also really completed. I spent to design the cover and pictures lay out about 2 hours. That’s quite a lot time i wasted on this. However，at the end of the design i felt fine. I am satisfied with my final design.

The problem is the front cover and the back cover is too simple. So if i can make a detail cover i think it will be much better.i hope next time i do this can be improved.

For my final outcome，i already used id to make the layer of my photograph. But，the problem is the print machine in photograph room can not print A3 paper. therefore，i have print out my outcome，but i already down all of the process without print. Sorry about that.
