today i was study on photography. it was quiet hard for me because this is my first time using manual pattern on camera. i was really impressed by the low aperture. because i want to study in fashion design course in the future, i think this pattern of aperture use on fashion show is fabulous.

i enjoyed the process of learning how to take a low and high aperture picture because i can very successful do it. The high one is using f16, the low one is using f5.6. we went outside to take picture for our sketchbook, it was exactly what i had been hoping for. i did some pictures which are taking in outside. then i chose six best picture print and stick on my sketchbook. after that, i found the artists photograph online.

what i learned is that i can take a picture which is having a clear foreground and a vague background. from now on, i will try to use this pattern to take more photos with people, because i think take nice picture can practice my photograph skill and make people happy.

Today i was working on critical and contextual baroque lesson. we had draw a picture with our peer’ s portraits. firstly, we use pencil to draw the line, then we use a special material which is very strong ink to complete the portraits. the baroque art divide by reformation art and counter reformation art. we draw the portrait is counter reformation art style. the counter reformation art portrait has deep black dark background, and it contract with some light area which is on people face.

i found it quite tricky at beginning, because i do not have a good sketch skill. however, when i start to use the black ink to draw the background and face, i found it was going to be a good contract picture. for me, i felt it was quiet successful result. because at beginning i felt quiet disappoint. but the problem is the portrait does not looks like my peer. i should improve my drawing skill in the future.

in retrospect, i think i learnt a lot from this lesson. in the past, i know baroque art, but i do not know baroque has divided by reformation and counter reformation. and the religion are quiet detail and dramatic, some of the artists are impressed me a lot. in the future, i need to learn more detail of art history. and i will try to have more practice on my drawing skill.

in the studio today, we learned how to use sewing machine, and i used it to create a continue line face on the cotton cloth. i was interested in finding out if i make a face like continue line drawing, will it be helpful for practicing my sewing machine technology.

I found it quite tricky at the beginning, as I did the line at the hair. the detail of the hair is extremely troublesome, I did it not good.so I used two different material cloth made a romantic heart and a bowknot on the hair area. it is quite abstract compare with my 3D design outcome. The results were not what I was expecting, because I did so many mistakes which is I use the cloth to covered.

what i learned is that how to control the sewing machine and how to cross wiring. now i can much better than before to using the sewing machine. From now on, i will try to more practice in control sewing machine, i hope i can do better next time.

In the studio today, we learnt SHUTTER SPEED this manual pattern. i was a bit hesitant because i did it well. we went outside and took photo at the park and street.

I found it really fascinating because I had taken some nice pictures. and I chose three best pictures to stick on the sketchbook in the end. The outcomes were just what I learned. the first picture is FAST SHUTTER SPEED, it means we take a photo when the model jumps, and catch the moment. we used 500 shutter speed to take this type of photos. the second picture is called PANNING SHOT. We used 50 shutter speed to catch cars movement in the street. the third one is called SLOW SHUTTER SPEED. We used 15 shutter speed to catch the movement of the leg spinning. It was exactly what I had been hoping for.

In retrospect, now I understand that the different shutter speed can take different types of photographs. I used to use automatic pattern in the past, from now on, I will try to use manual pattern in the future.

Today I was working on the 3D design. I used wire to make my 3D self-portrait. I enjoyed the process of learning how to use wire to make staff because I am really like this kind of artwork. I had seen some this kind of artwork in the exhibition before, and they impressed me so much.

for me, I think it turned out quite well because I had success to make the wire looks like good. when I competed for this work, I put it under the sunshine, then it was really stunning me because of the shallow imprint on the wall.

I know now that the drawback is the face not looks like me, the mouth is too big and the hair is too less. if I can try one more time, I think it will be much better than today what I did.

Today i was working on critical and contextual. we learned many artists which were in the the the renaissance period. What impressed me most is Leonardo di ser Piero da, Vinci. I chose one of his pictures to imitate which is called the principal organs and vascular and urine-genital systems of a woman, pen on paper. I was really impressed by this picture because I am interested in humans body structure and violence aesthetic style. I wanted to see if I put some bloodiness elements into this picture will it looks good.

I found it really tricky cos there are so many details in this picture, like the blood vessels and internal organs. and I felt quite disappointed with the outcome because I made a big mistake on my picture. I did not realize clearly before I start to draw. My work does not look like a renaissance period picture. I used too many elements what I want to use in this work. Like the eye and the crying blood which under the eye. When I completed my work, I realized that not a renaissance period element picture. So that is a huge mistake I made.

Looking back, now I realize that the form of renaissance art. the next time I do this activity, I will focus on using some more elements about renaissance and try to do the work with oil painting.

I was a bit nervous because this is my first time draw in charcoal. i am afraid to lag our group. I found it quirt difficult at first, because we should make sure, after enlarge each part of the college is similar. We tried to measure the scale and draw some labels on a0 paper. Fortunately, it was successful because we done it carefully, so there are not too much mistakes when we complete.

In retrospect, I now understand that some more details we can do better. like the shape of dark, the size and density of dark spot. The next time i do this activity, i will focus on the detail of different tone . Because now I know how exactly enlarge the collage.after that，we put eight world at different area. Which is contrast，composition，scale，aperture，frame，focal point，enlarge，charcoal. when all of us finished the collage，we did a comparison of each group outcomes. I think our outcome is a good example for wrong composition.
